Logansport Memorial's Sports Medicine Program was designed to diagnose and treat sports injuries as quickly as possible, while preventing further injuries. Our partnership with local schools give student athletes streamlined care for sports injuries.
LMH Athletic Trainer Zac Cowell saw student athlete, Eli Miller, for a sprained ankle that required more care than the standard R.I.C.E (rest, ice, compression, elevation) treatment. He worked with Zac to get the proper care needed to slowly get back to his best mobility. And the best part? Zac was on-site, at the school, to help Eli recover faster.
"Zac started working with me on my mobility...focusing on movement in my ankle. After a couple days of strict movement, I was able to start walking on it and getting back to doing things. After a day or so of walking, I was able to start jogging...then running. My recovery experience was great!" -Eli Miller
From injury and assessment to finding the right treatment plan, our on-site access helped Eli to find fast and effective care. On or off the field, our athletic trainers provide immediate care and direct access to physicians to get athletes back in action.
