With social distancing and stay-at-home orders in effect, Logansport Memorial Hospital is thinking differently about how to provide ongoing healthcare for as many patients as possible. A new telehealth option is now available in many of the Logansport Memorial Physician Network offices.
Reducing the number of people in our waiting rooms and throughout our facility will help protect patients against potential COVID-19 exposure. This is one more way - in addition to restricted access and restricted visitation - that we can help our patients follow our Indiana Governor's order, while still giving them the care and consultation they need from a trusted healthcare provider.
Please call your primary care provider and ask about using this telehealth option. Patients who have a scheduled primary care appointment may be notified in advance by their provider's office about using telehealth for that appointment.
Using telehealth
If you are contacted about using telehealth with an LMPN provider, or if you call the office to ask about scheduling a telehealth visit, here's what you can expect as next steps:
- You will receive a text message with a link that you can click to start your video visit on your phone.
- Click that link 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.
- If you are not using your phone for the visit and are using a laptop instead, you will get an email with the link you need to click to start your visit.

What to do when you do not have a primary care provider
If you do not have a primary care provider, please report to the ER entrance at Logansport Memorial Hospital. Because Express Medical Center is closed at this time, patients who need same day, immediate care for minor illness or injury that is not respiratory-related should go to the ER entrance to be triaged by the Emergency Department. Walk-ins will be seen in a primary care office or in the Occupational Health clinic for any non-emergent and non respiratory-related conditions, depending on the day and time of when you need care. As a reminder, all walk-ins for minor, respiratory-related conditions should be seen at the Respiratory Clinic at the 4-H Fairgrounds.
Additional telehealth information
Telehealth will be an option for scheduled appointments only. If you do not have access to a computer or smartphone, arrangements can be made for a phone call visit, without the visual or video capability.
