Laura Douglass Retires After 12 Years at LMH

Logansport Memorial Hospital is pleased to congratulate Laura Douglass of Medical Records/Coding on her retirement. Laura has served a dedicated 12 total years at LMH in various roles, starting in 1986 in the Women’s Health Center.

Throughout the years, Laura said LMH has always felt like “home” to her, but her fellow staff members have impacted her most of all.

She says that her happiest experience at LMH was meeting her friend Beth Moore. “She took me under her wing and showed me around and was always there answering any questions and helping me,” Laura commented. “Eventually, we became the closest of friends!”

When asked about what she will miss most about our organization, she answered, “I made so many friends here that became like family, some are no longer with us. Too many to name individually – I’ll miss them most, and I’ll cherish all the memories we’ve made over the years…And I’ll also miss the convenience of the food in the café and the coffee shop!”

Laura has already made a bucketlist for her retirement, and she says her first order of business is “hanging out in her backyard with her chickens and enjoying a [well-deserved] glass of wine!”

Laura’s last day as a full-time staff member will be July 6, but she will stay PRN as a Coder in Medical Records.

Thank you, Laura! We wish you the best of luck on your next adventure!
