Logansport Memorial Hospital has earned a Clean Facility Certificate from the Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE), the recognized authority in health care environmental services, and professional membership group as a resource for members and the environmental services community at large in response to COVID-19.
Logansport Memorial Hospital Environmental Services Manager Samantha Scruggs completed the Pathways to Clean certificate program, which includes training and education content related to COVID-19, infection prevention strategies, cleaning, disinfection, sanitation, emerging pathogens, and preparedness for biological events. She has implemented this specialized education into all processes that our Environmental Services team follows and uses to maintain the hospital environment for our patients.
Perry Gay, President and CEO of Logansport Memorial Hospital comments, "The entire Environmental Services team has been diligent, focused, and consistent with increased cleaning protocols and processes since the beginning of COVID-19 in our community, because keeping our facility clean keeps our staff and patients safe."
He went on to say, "This is another amazing example of the way that all members of our staff are willing to work together to achieve the highest standards of certification for the care that we provide. I am extremely proud as I watch them fulfill our mission and bring our vision to life, going above and beyond to exceed the needs and desires of our patients. Logansport Memorial Hospital will remain committed to maintaining a hygienically clean and safe facility that you can count on, through COVID-19 and beyond for the patient and families that we serve."
