Logansport Memorial Hospital Foundation holds successful River Bluff Run

On Saturday, October 12, 2012, two hundred twenty-seven runners and walkers participated in the 8th annual River Bluff Run.  Scott Colford was the overall male runner with a time 17:10.6 and Tasha Mitchell was the overall female runner with a time of 21:30.5.

October is breast cancer awareness month and Logansport Memorial Hospital Foundation uses this month to promote free screening mammograms for low-income uninsured and underinsured women.  “We have tried to bring the level of awareness down to our community and make an impact on the women who are affected or could be affected locally,” explains Vicki Byrd, Vice President of Planning and Development. “The Foundation has established a Breast Screening Fund, and the proceeds from our River Bluff Run and Fun Walk are utilized through it. The 2012 River Bluff Run raised $2800.00.

Event sponsors included Associated Radiologists, Hematology Oncology of Indiana, Kesling Home Health Care, XI Gamma XI, James A Hall MD and WSAL / WLHM / WHZR.  Refreshment and entertainment sponsors were Anytime Fitness, Logansport Savings Bank, Rent-A-Center Security Federal, and Steve Shultz, Independent Little Debbie Distributor.
