As part of LIVE UNITED Day for 2012, Logansport Memorial Hospital and several other local organizations are partnering with United Way of Cass County to hold a Community Health Fair. This event will take place on LIVE UNITED Day, which is Friday, September 21, 2012 from 9am – 2pm at the Salvation Army of Logansport. The address is 620 Wilkinson Street, and the public is welcome to attend. There is no cost for attending this event.
LIVE UNITED Day is all about working together to serve our community, by bringing together numerous volunteers and projects that will leave a lasting impact on those involved. This health fair will bring together several of our resources in Cass County who make it their mission to serve our community and meet its changing needs. It will help educate the public on good health practices for preventative care, and also provide information about health resources and community organizations available in Cass County.
There will be free screenings given to all who attend by trained health personnel. The Health and Wellness team from Logansport Memorial Hospital will be present to provide free health screenings and consultations for those who wish to receive them. The Wal-Mart Vision Center will be present to provide free vision screenings to those who wish to receive them.
Other community organizations will be represented as well. The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive that day, for anyone wishing to donate blood.
Basic fitness classes will be offered during the day, at 11am, Noon, and 1pm on-site.
Hands-only CPR instruction will be demonstrated via multimedia channels for the public. Additionally, useful information will be available from other organizations involved.
