Logansport Memorial Hospital Foundation scholarships have been awarded. We have proudly presented them to exceptional students pursuing careers in the healthcare or medical fields. By providing students with these awards, it is our hope that they might return to our rural community to enjoy successful careers once they are finished with their education.
The Foundation reviewed several qualified applications this year, and awarded two $750 scholarships and one $1500 scholarship from the Community Education Fund. “We are pleased to assist these students in achieving such high academic aspirations,” commented Vicki Byrd, Vice-President of Planning and Development for Logansport Memorial Hospital. “We believe they will do well in their future endeavors and are glad to be part of that.”
Two of our recipients are seniors at Caston Junior-Senior High School. Graham Redweik will attend Wabash College to pursue his undergraduate degree, but then he plans to attend the Indiana University School of Medicine to obtain a Ph.D. in neurological science. Zac Cowell plans to attend Manchester College in North Manchester, Indiana where he plans to pursue becoming a physical therapist.
Melanie R. Shrontz is a senior at Pioneer Junior-Senior High School and will attend Butler University in the fall. She hopes to become an Orthopedic Physician Assistant.
LMHF would like to thank the community members, donors, and our hospital employees, who make it possible to provide scholarships like these because of their generosity. If you would like to make a contribution to the Community Education Fund in support of future scholarships, please contact the Foundation at 574.753.1595 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
