Logansport Memorial Hospital and Careage of Logansport, Inc. have executed a lease and management agreement that will allow both organizations to prepare for the future. “With healthcare reform, healthcare organizations are facing new requirements each year that are causing organizations to look for opportunities to improve coordination and collaboration by working more closely together”, Don Corcoran, Director of Financial Services, commented. “Quality initiatives for hospitals and nursing homes continue to be introduced by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Among the initiatives, hospitals and nursing homes are focusing on fewer readmissions to hospitals and better coordination with long term care facilities,” continued Corcoran.
“By working together, we are improving the continuity of care for our patients and better meeting the needs of our community”, stated David Ameen, President/CEO, Logansport Memorial Hospital. “We look forward to this collaborative arrangement with Careage of Logansport and being on the forefront of healthcare reform.”
The agreement will be effective July 1, 2012. Dr. Robert McKissick will continue to be the Medical Director for Careage of Logansport. Dr. McKissick is employed as a family medicine physician at Logansport Memorial Hospital.
